Engineering Manager, Checkout (Booking & Pricing)

The Checkout team is a critical team within the Booking & Pricing (B&P) organization. Booking & Pricing has a wide array of mission critical responsibilities across the Guest and Host experience including merchandising listings, enabling Booking and Reservation Management and managing pricing & calendar systems. As the Engineering Manager for Checkout, you will lead the team responsible for Airbnb’s Checkout online APIs and user experience across all platforms. The team’s work enables guests to seamlessly complete a booking and ensure Airbnb's core transaction is fast, trustworthy, and conversion-optimized at every step. In addition to working with other engineering organizations, you will be responsible for closely collaborating with cross-functional partners in Product Marketing, Design and Data Science. The community you will join Checkout sits at the critical intersection of guest intent and a completed transaction - the moment where trust in Airbnb is either earned or lost. The team builds and is responsible for the end-to-end booking flow, from pricing presentation and payment processing to booking confirmation, ensuring that every guest experiences a smooth path to securing their purchase. Success here requires close collaboration with partners across Payments, Trust, Pricing, and other Product teams to deliver systems that are fast and reliable at scale.
