This role requires advanced technical expertise, mechanical aptitude, leadership skills, and hands-on field experience with both electrical control systems and rotating equipment such as generators and flywheels. Strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to delivering high-performance power solutions in data centers, hospitals, industrial facilities, and utility-scale environments are essential. This is not a typical UPS engineer or technician role. In fact, a strong background in traditional static UPS systems may not be advantageous for this position. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with mechanical systems, generators, and rotary equipment, and be comfortable commissioning complex power systems in the field. You will act as the front-line expert for bringing large-scale RUPS systems online, resolving technical issues, and training others. This role will also provide technical software and hardware troubleshooting support to the IEM customer base on-site throughout North America while performing start-ups, retrofits, or preventative maintenance. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional IEM teams to integrate current and new technologies, commission complex generator and RUPS systems, optimize existing power infrastructure, and ensure seamless operation across our power products as defined by the customer's RUPS design and sequence of operations (SOO). This role will serve as the point of contact for all field service personnel related to RUPS startup, generator support, preventative maintenance, 24-hour emergency response, and remote technical assistance. &nbsp; &nbsp; KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and perform on-site startup, commissioning, and preventative maintenance of RUPS systems, including generator integration, flywheel validation, and facility electrical infrastructure. Perform functional testing, load bank testing, system synchronization, and complete system validation to ensure all components meet performance specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues related to generators, flywheels, switchgear, control systems, fuel systems, and coupling assemblies. Follows a scientific step-by-step process to troubleshoot equipment issues. Captures data and troubleshooting steps concisely and accurately to facilitate effective communication to internal and external parties. Works directly with 3 rd &nbsp;party equipment vendors and customers to help resolve re-occurring issues with vendor equipment within IEM’s integrated RUPS systems. Perform functional tests, load tests, synchronization, and RUPS system validation.<
