NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is a Title 32 excepted service position that requires membership in the Vermont Air National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Vermont Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. OPEN AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: AREA 1, 2, 3, 4 Area I: All current On-board Permanent and Indefinite Dual Status 32 and Title 5 (Competitive and Excepted) Technicians (Tenure: 1-Career, 2-Conditional, 3-Indefinite) - Only those Vermont National Guard members who are in permanent or indefinite technician status as a result of being competitively hired within that National Guard component applying for a position within the component which they are currently employed. Area II: All Members of the Vermont Air National Guard. Area III: Currently assigned service members in other branches of the military outside of the VTNG, to include those assigned to Active Duty, Reserve or other state's National Guard. Area IV: All individuals able to and willing to become members of the Vermont National Guard including prior service not currently assigned to a military component and non-prior service US civilians. Military Grade: Enlisted: Rank will be individually addressed upon selection up to TSgt/E6 Work involves working in one or more workstations of a fuel distribution system, or operating a complete system, to receive, store, transfer and issue petroleum and other products such as liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, and anhydrous ammonia. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and to safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE WG-09: Must have at least 18 months Experience or training operating, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and overhauling fuel systems and components. Experience or training initiating and controlling the movement and storage of fuel supplies by operating high pressure systems with a series of terminals connected by cross-country pipelines or multi-fuel storage and distribution facilities connected by a network of internal pipelines. Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated based on duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
