Join IVX Health as a Certified Pharmacy Technician! We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Specialty Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Apex / IVX Health. The ideal candidate will have experience working with specialty medications and a strong understanding of pharmacy procedures. ABOUT THE ROLE The Pharmacy Technician works as a liaison between patients and healthcare organizations, with the primary role of ensuring patient safety while providing excellent patient service. This individual fields calls from patients, providers, and third-party payers, and helps to answer questions by listening, educating, and problem solving. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Ensures that patient’s pharmacy needs are fulfilled in a timely, accurate and service oriented manner. Verifies insurance information and obtains necessary preauthorization Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities; preparing other pharmaceutical therapies Focuses on conflict resolution without blame; maintains confidentiality; listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control; remains open to others' ideas and attempts new things Employs the interpersonal and advocacy skills necessary to deal with a diverse patient population successfully and professionally Ensures customer satisfaction by answering questions, resolving issues, and using proper phone etiquette; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics; Manages difficult or emotional customer situations.
