In this role, you will create design solutions for the conceptual and preliminary design development of various reactor core components, reactor structures, and Nuclear Island components for the Natrium Generation IV Reactor. Candidates must have extensive experience in equipment design. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will report to the Core Component Design Manager. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will work as part of a high functioning team of engineers and scientists focused on developing the design of next-generation advanced nuclear reactors.   Responsibilities: Coordinate and utilize inputs and requirements from Engineering and Project teams to produce equipment and components design solutions, including drawings, models, and specifications. Perform planning for design activities and manage execution to the established plans. Propose and develop tests required to validate functional and performance design requirements. Perform scoping analysis and trade studies for design options. Interface with cross functional team for design and analysis activities. Perform engineering reviews of team members’ products. Interface with engineers and subcontractors, providing direction and mentoring. Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change/enhancement opportunities.   Key Qualifications: Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred. Minimum of five years of equipment / component design experience; relevant M.S. and Docto
