Job Description

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards GL-09: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS/GL-08 grade level serving as a mentor or lead for lower graded Correctional Officers, including leading, providing direction, and guidance to lower graded correctional officers in the operation and management of a correctional and/or detention facility and experience in policy and standard implementation of detention operations. NOTE: To be eligible for Secondary Law Enforcement Coverage, you must 1) move directly from a federal Primary/Rigorous position; 2) complete 3 years of service in a primary/rigorous position, and; 3) must be continuously employed in a secondary position(s) since moving from a primary/rigorous position. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Additional selections may be made from this announcement if identical vacancies occur in the same location within 90 days from the closing date.
